Hello all,
I am considering purchasing a 1.4 16 Valve Polo (from 2000 onwards) and am wondering what to look out for when I go to look at a few. I realise I may look at either the old style late 90s model with the blacked out rear lights or the model that followed that but I like both and at present have no preference which I get. A low mileage example in great condition is what I am ideally after.
Could you guys advise me on weak points of these cars and also tell me what service routine should have been followed especially regarding timing / cambelts and spark plugs? I know that these normally have both a mileage OR an age before refitting whichever comes first. I would like to make myself a little checklist up before I set off this weekend on my search.
