Hi,

I own the above car and recently it started making a slight whistling noise which was not too loud so i took no notice. It is now making a very very loud whistling noise every time i accelerate or go over 20 miles an hour. The car is drivable but is now has no power at all and struggles to make it too 30 mph. The noise is really loud too.

Any ideas what it could be? I no it might have something to do with the turbo but i rang Audi and a new turbo cost and fit will cost over 2000pounds!!:zx11:

Any help very appreciated!! Also would like to know if the car is safe to drive?

Thanks in advance.

could just be a boost hose that has come disconnected ,have you noticed an increase in smoke ?

start the car and get some one to rev it slightly whilst you have a look under the bonnet .

hopefully a hose has come loose or split , alot cheaper than a turbo

if turbo has badly failed the car usually pumps out masses of smoke as it burns the oil leaking from it .
