Remove immobiliser?

i have a 1996 1.9 Passat and recently my key fob immobiliser? has being playing up. i have replaced the batteries and tried everything i can to do with the key fob device, i am now at the stage where i want to remove the immobiliser completely and just use the key manually as i struggle to get in the car alot, and struggle to press the immobiliser before starting the engine even if i dont lock the car.

Anyone any ideas on how to remove it or any helpful tips or links please?

Are you talking about an after market fitted immo ? don't understand what you mean by key fob immobiliser
