Car lighter problem

The car lighter doesn't work, and the fuses are not broken... It started to stop working when a electric transformator (12V) was plugged in and suddenly the lighter had a short-circuit and it hasn't worked since.

I have no ideia what is the problem and I will apreciate some help. Thank you in advance. ;)
