Diesel leak from injection pump operating spindle any ideas on how to cure?

Oh dear. This sounds familiar. When this happened to my Dagenham Dog ( Ford 1.8 TD) the pump had to be 'serviced' - for all i know they exchanged it but it cost me. About £500 as i recall. ouch.
