Has anyone retrofitted cruise control to their car? If so could someone tell me the best way to do it - is it easy enough to DIY and where can I get the parts?
Alternatively how much would it cost to get it done at the dealer?

Yes I have fitted plenty, it costs around £250 fitted.
Dealer price around £400 but you may find its less. labour time just short of one hour
Parts from audi only and the switch pack aint cheap compared to the B6 & b7 platforms
I have just been to Bristol today to pick a tool box up as well

Hi.
i have just done it my self, - its quite easy :)
My advice to you is to get the controlarm with the buttons for the Drive computer if you dont have it allready.
The rest is all VAG-COM / VCDS programming
Remember also to buy a new shiedling with hole for the cruisecontrolstick.
Cheers

Thanks! Do you have the part numbers I would need? Did you get any instructions?

I'm looking to do the same thing, do you already have VCDS/VAGCOM ? not sure if its worth buying for just this.

No, I'd probably have to find someone who could do that part for me.

options
Fit the cruise switch pack and lower cowling, then ask a forum member or the dealer to code it.When ever vcds is used to encode address 16 and address 01 the code changes will be returned to deactivated when any dealer runs any svm updates.
Ask your dealer to run the svm code for the retro fit so the code changes are permanent
Get somebody to fit it if you supply the parts

They should be fine, I used to get the parts for around £125 + vat but last week I was quoted £175.
I need to order a switch pack soon so I will try tps for a better price or ask why my dealer put the price up
If you need any help with the code changes just pm me and I will help you

Cheers just in the process of buying VCDS so will be in touch, is it just the cruise stalk and column cover that’s needed for the B8?

Unlike previous models were the switch separates from the switch pack the B8 requires the full switch pack and the lower cowling.Make sure you order the switch pack with the mfi switch on the wiper stalk

Thanks again. I was thinking it was like the b7 and i could buy any stalk set and remove the cruise and add it to mine.
Are petrol and diesel the same and its just the DIS control i need?

I now have vagcom and change a few of the basic setting and now feel ready to give the Cruise Control retrofit a go.
I've been offered a switch pack with High beam assist with the part number ending BD, I ideally need the D
Does anyone any ideas if this can be used ?
Thanks
