Passat 2009 Hi-line almost killed me!

My 09 Passat company car with almost 50,000 miles on the clock, decided to shut down on the M5. The parking brake which I keep set on auto cut in, bringing the car from 70mph to 0 in seconds. Luckily the 3rd lane was clear for the guy behind me to swerve into. A colleague with the same car has experienced engine cut out as well but he did not have auto parking brake activated. Anyone heard of this?:zx11:

Try the Passat B6 forum which is for saloons/estates and has many more participants than this one and therefore a much greater chance of finding someone who can help.
