17849 - EGR Valve (N18)open Circuit or Short to Ground

i have changed the EGR Valve as the seals were also perished but the fault still seems to be there...

please could somebody help me on this one

As there's no electrical connection to the valve itself, the problem probably lies with the valve that operates the vacuum that controls the valve.

Follow the vacuum pipe back from the valve and you will find the unit (N18?) you will need to remove/clean/check connections/replace it.

yes id second that, check the vacum pipe as they rub thro near the air filter housing,,,,or if you get really stuck, come and see me and i will turn the egr function off in the ecu,,,,this will make the engine run alot smoother,,,,

no,ive got the software to read ecu info, and veiw it in map form,i have done this to my 130 pd,i used a blanking plate and blocked off the egr pipe,i then kept getting a egr flow fault code,so used the software to turn the map function off,,,,,,
