Hi guys,

Went to jump in the car tonight to come to work, fired up and then ran a bit rough and died. Tried to start it again and it did eventually fire up after holding the key for 6-7 seconds (which seems like an enormous amount of time when you're doing it) and giving the accelerator a blip. When it was running it seemed ok, not perfect but ok. Decided to leave the car at home incase I got stranded at work.

Any ideas? What should I look for? Its been running fine and starting well. Yesterday I removed the air filter box to get at the spark plugs, but once I realised that I didn't have the correct spark plug tool, I put everything back together. I checked all the leads were back on the plugs properly too. Bit of a puzzler.

Supposed to be taking the girlfriend to the new forest at the weekend....any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

It's funny I should see this post because mine has been occasionally doing this lately.

I haven't had time to have a look at it but will do once I get space in the workshop.

I would imagine it would be a sensor that could be dodgy. has your engine management light come on or the service interval warning?

If the engine management light is on I would reccomend getting somebody with a code reader to determine the code.

if you get the code you could post it here and we could find out what is exactly wrong and you wouldn't have to pay a dealer to do it.

If the engine management light isn't on and the service light is, I would go down the route of maybe a dirty injector or contaminated fuel.

I may be well off track but I would check the cheap easy things first incase.

Hope this helps
