I bought an a4 and it has 2 keys, one of them opens it and the other dosent. I reckon that it needs to be programmed the same as the other one.

Chances are that it used to work one time.

Any heads up on this one ?

Thanks

Been told that only Audi can (and charge!) to reprogram the keys. The basically wipe both keys and reprogram car to both. Your lucky you have a spare key - I'm getting charged 150-180 quid for a new key to be supplied and programmed....

How do these people sleep at night, charging that sort of money for a key!?!

Put working key in ignition and switch on, dont start engine
Wind window down (just in case)
Put second key in door lock and turn clockwise hold this position
Press button on remote twice (programmed to second key slot)
Remove key from lock
Switch of ignition and remove key
Second remote should now work

As above!!!

With most manufacturers when you replace the battery you have to re sync it to the car, sometimes it will work straight away.

Says in the handbook.

Usually the only time you have to go to the dealers to get the key working is if it is a replacement (new) key and needs reprogramming. I've heard of some going to the dealer and they say it needs reprogramming and charge £45 for the priviledge and all they do is what is stated in the handbook for re-syncing.
