Has anyone heard of this before, my car (B6 Avant) locks all the doors apart form the drivers door with the remote?

the pipe from the central locking pump may have come adrift between the pump and the door. Does it lock with the key?

Thank you for your input. No the key will not lock the door either also this is leaving my car with no alarm!

The model is S4 if this helps in anyway.

My front passenger door started doing this (ie not locking, or sometimes not unlocking) intermittently. It turned out to be a faulty lock mechanism, which needed to be replaced (£200-ish IIRC :zx11:). Apparently they're prone to getting water in them over time.

Definitely worth ruling out simple loom-related stuff first though, as others have suggested. While you're poking around under the rubber gaiter thing that protects the door / pillar loom connector, give it a good ol' squirt of WD40 too. Ya never know... ;)
