There is a new BETA version of Microsoft Office.

You can download this test version for free:

Tried it and couldn't get any emails. Followed some guides and ended up removing!!! I wouldn't put this on your main PC.

I wouldn't put this on your main PC.

That's pretty much the rule for Beta launches sadly.

Some things work perfectly, some enjoy FUBARing everything :)

Been using it for a while now; seems pretty stable and some nice new adds - looking forward to the final release. Its certainly in better shape than vs 2010 rc 1 :)

Had it for a while and didnt like it at the start and find it easier to navigate than 2007. Will possibly buy it when its officially released.

It just is though isn't it, I still stuggle with finding some functions in 2007 despite having used it day in and day out for around 2 years :zx11:

Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've been really tempted to take 2007 out and returning to 2003 on my home PC. At least at work we're on 2003.

2007 is a crock of horse poo.

2003 worked and was the best of the bunch by miles.

As with Mr Answer, I still don't know how to do things and I've used it daily since release.

I HATE 2007 for the stupid layout change.
Every version before (2003, XP, 1997 ETC) all had the same layout that was set in the first Microsoft Office. I know we have to move with the times but the old layout worked fine.

Indeed. And what I don't get is the MS did a lot of study on usability, tracking what people do with the menus and toolbars in order to make the best layout. Yet, having done all that work, I've yet to find anyone who really uses it (and I'm really talking about word and excel here) liking the new layout and finding it better than the old one.

It's as if from 2005 to 2008 something was put in the water in Redmond that made people all crazy, it's the only explanation for that and Vista.

I downloaded the final version and it seems much the same as the 2007 ver.

with the menus, I have tried using visio and its so anoying that the line tool is no where to be found other than making a custom toolbar. Its the same on 2007
