1.8T MAF sensor

I noticed some flat spots or very slight missfires on my Sharan 1.8T and have just changed the MAF sensor to see if it makes a difference. So far, I've noticed it idles OK, but every 10 secs or so, the idle speed drops to a near stall. Any ideas please?

clean the throttle body out and check for air leaks
