HID's and MOT

I've just had HIDs fitted to my A4 Avant, it's been suggested to me that my car may fail it's next MOT, does anyone know if this is correct?

if you now get a correct beam pattern, it will pass the mot. the actual legalities of fitting them are not covered by the test. the beam pattern will depend on the actual kit fitted and your head lights. it might be worth popping into an mot station and getting them to check the pattern and height adjustment.
