Hi...
This is my first post, I think the site is great.
I have 99 A4 TDi and the clutch bite is right at the top of the pedal travel, there is no slip at all on the clutch however hard I try.
I know that the 2.0 petrol models have a high bite and was wondering if anyone else has similar experiance of this on the TDi's.
Many Thanks for any help.:1zhelp:

Hi, had exactly the same problem on my 97' 110TDI A4 that ive just bought, apparently theres no adjustment as the clutch is hydraulically operated.
I 'bit the bullet' and had the clutch assembly replaced (£350) and everything is fine now with a much lower biting point...... the new clutch is much lighter than the original one too (less leg ache when crawling in traffic)

Thanks Rob
Was thinking of going down that route... just got a 1000 mile trip to get over with first... may have to risk it....
Cheers

I think the only way to adjust the clutch is with the slave cylinder rod--slightly longer = less push to dissengage tranny from engine
slightly shorter = more push to dissengage tranny from engine
I think that this adjustment is used from the mechanics--
