My car was in Dealers to cure a problem with the service interval display and I asked ,while the car was their, to have switched on the "needle sweep"function when car started. No problem and they did it ( and no cost) but I found the DIS frozen onto the screen giving miles to next fuel fill up only. Took car back yesterday and York Audi Service Manager stated needle sweep only availiable if the DIS is disabled to show the miles to fill up function only. Seems odd to me anyone know if he is correct ?

Very surprised, and pleased for you, that they agreed to do it. With my A (not S) car my dealer flatly refused... reason why was not clearly stated, but it was something about S brand protection - not technical. Decision whether to buy the expensive cable to do just one or two things was very hard... so, in the end, I didn't. Would still like that feature, though, it would make me happy.

Yes. I liked it while I had it ! Made car start up a bit more special. I think there is a VDub specialist in York and I will pop in to see them to get it back on

York Audi have refused to tweak anything claiming Audi UK do not provide them with the codes. I kindly provided the codes thanks to the VAGcom Tricks thread but they wont touch them on Audi UK instructions.

Let me know about your York VDub specialist if you get it sorted.

Cheers

I think that's perfectly reasonable actually.

Also don't forget that when you take you're car in to a dealer, you are at risk of having all the settings put back to how it was when it left the factory.

Hi.

I can confirm that sweeping needles together with fully functioning DIS works fine on mine too

Cheers

Sorry....getting of topic here.

To be honest, all I wanted was a coding change for the the rear lights to be on when the front DRL's are on. With the car being Lava grey people tend not to see you when the light is fading but the headlamps (and thus rear lights) have not yet come on. A bit lazy, I know I can turn the headlamps on manually, but I thought this would be a little safer in the Auto setting given all this sh** weather and a grey car.

Needle sweep would have been a 'nice to have'

I know what you're saying but if Audi said yes to you and no to needle sweep then they'd have to go through every mod and decide yes or no. They're not going to bother are they?

Anyway find someone with VCDS and get it done for free ( or maybe a diet coke :D )
