OK guys
Many thanks for the quick replies regarding the electronic handbrakes. Next question - can anyone advise which A4 diesels have DPF? As per the F**d F**us 2 litre, is it a customer option? Or do some/all of them have it regardless? Looking to get an A4 140 or 170 Avant TDi 2005 on. Most of my driving is Oxford-LHR commute with a small amount of local, and occasional OH taking it to work (14 mile journey A-roads)
TIA
Pete

I'm pretty sure all of the 170's have DPF, if you want to see what it looks like here's a photo of mine...

Many thanks for the replies guys. I will probably be going for a 140 BHP one and I think some of those have dpf; just wondered if, like the 2 lt F**us, it was an option.

I posted this in the B6 section:-

Further to my meanderings, and following my recent posts elsewhere on here, we have settled on A4 Avant B7 as our choice for later this year. Having researched agonisingly, it seems that the one to go for would be an S-line, to get the best spec? Although we see that many of the others have obviously been ordered with some nice options. Not particularly bothered by xenons (although my Evo-owning son raves about them) but would like something with an interior a bit better looking than the Passat saloon we looked at a few weeks ago (sorry Passat owners - I do like 'em but this one was awful, but I have seen some nice beige leather interiors on some)
I still need to find out which of the 140bhp models have DPF; I have noticed variations of tax bands given in the Autotrader ads, presumably this is due to some being bought with DPF option? I see under my DPF thread a pic of an A4 170 with one fitted - is this also the position for them on the A4 140?
We like the black ones but realise it is a hard colour to keep looking nice; I like the Mauritius Blue and these seem to come up frequently with nice contrasting beige interiors. Again, I suppose it depends on what was ordered by the original owner. I did post a request for link(s) to brochures as I am not sure what combinations were available.
Questions questions - sorry, TIA for your help.

I think I may have stumbled on the answer to my original question - shamelessly lifted from an "Honest John" query:-

An 06 140 won't have a DPF.
