Hello all,
I'm looking to replace all the discs and pads on my octavia elegance 1.9TDI hatch & have been looking around for the best price. I've seen a few on Ebay but unsure which brands to go for / avoid. . .

Has anybody got any experience of good manufacturers and ones to steer clear of ?

cheers,
Ed.

Ed,

When not using genuine ones, I've used Mintex and Ferodo over the years and would recommend them to anyone. They aren't the cheapest, but are usually cheaper than from the dealer, however I would check the dealer's price first, you may be surprised.

I need new pads and discs for my Octavia SLX TDI, so I'm in the same boat as you really and will be using either genuine ones, or Mintex or Ferodo.

Make sure the ones you buy come with wear sensors, I reckon your car will have front wear sensors.

Never used Febi ones, though I've heard of Pagid many times, more specifically with performance discs. They're probably alright.

I also noticed when I bought my first set of pads for my A6, they were actually stamped Eicher on the back, and they were bought from the dealer, so they're probably as good as standard too.

I fitted a set of front and rear discs and pads to my Octavia last weekend, I ended up with Pagid ones from Euro Car Parts.

They seem very good, and are coated, so they look nice behind the alloys. Certainly as good if not better than Mintex I reckon.
