Which VagCom lead for 1999 passat

My comfort system ecu has packed up (wife is very ****** off at not being able to open the windows:zx11:) and my airbag light wont go out so its finally come to the point where I need to get a vagcom lead that plugs into the obd2 port. Some of the leads I have seen on ebay say they won't work on a B5 passat. My laptop does have a serial port so can use either a usb or serial lead. Any suggestions as to which lead and which software ? My car is a 99/2000 passat sport 1.8t
