Hello, first post, and it's a question.

Just bought an A6 (first ever Audi too) and am very pleased with it.It has a couple of irritating faults as you'd expect for an 8 year old car . My car's got the message centre and its currently showing the message for blown brake light. I've checked and replaced the bulb that had popped. But it still shows and won't be reset. I've disconnecetd the battery for 20 minutes and still it shows. Its not doing any harm obviously but it is 'annoying'. Is this common? any fixes that any audi magician knows about?

Cheers

Jim

It could be a bad earth. The most common problem with rear brake lights is this.

Take out the bulb and get a piece of fine emery paper, clean up the contacts and put the bulb back.

Hopefully this sorts you out.
