Do you find the A5 much bigger than the A4? In regards to parking etc etc?

I find it feels a bit wider and the steering heavier due to not having servotronic steering.
On the road I find it harder / firmer on the suspension, this may be down the having different tyres than on the A4.

Im interested in a simular spec A5, how much does it work out a month? I know you had an A4 before, but you said you changed it at no extra cost? -presuming they used the value of your last car?

I had problems with my Audi A4 and they took it back off me after owning it for six months. I paid the difference between the retail price of my Audi A4 and the Audi A5 with a small amount for wear and tare.
I was happy with the deal at the time and are even happier now as the car is better than I thought.

Can I ask why you didn't go for the Stronic again ?

I've been considering one of these to replace a DSG equiped Golf GTi, which I've loved so Stronic is a key option for me.

I too came from a DSG GTI which I had for four years. I loved that car and didn't realise how good a car it was until I got the Audi A4 last july.
I waited to order a new Audi A4 2.0TFSI Q with S tronic. The car it self was a very good car with great build standards.
On book the Audi A4 beat / ticked all the right boxes.
2.0TFSI more power and torque
better fuel economy
Quattro drive
Bigger car
Cheaper tax
It wasn't until I picked up the car the problems started.
first was the pulsing at 80MPH, then the gear change of the S tronic slow/sluggish
And then to top it off the MPG was bad to say the least.
In the end I'd lost all faith in the car and just wanted rid of it.
I now have a Audi A5 2.0TDI Quattro to which I am very pleased with.

IMHO the S Tronic in the Audi A4/5 is NOT like the DSG of the GTI.
Reading between the lines it sounds like Audi have gone for a more of a relaxed drive than in the DSG which was more of a sports gear box.
It's very much a shame that Audi has gone down this route with this newer gearbox.
It has now come to light that this new S Tronic box is replacing the old but very reliable Trip Tronic gearbox.

Hope this helps.
If you are thinking of getting one please please get a weekend test drive and not just a waltz around the block.

Daz..

I was very unsure about getting a tractor engined car after having the GTI and A4.
I've done only 630miles since picking it up and the more I drive it the more I'm liking it even more.
I was scared that getting the derv option that there wouldn't be enough go in it, but how wrong I've been proved. And it's only getting better.
Fuel economy is increasing week on week. I'm able to go and have some fun and still return a good average for the week which is indeed a bonus.
IF and it's a big IF I do get the urge for some more power the REVO remap would give me as much power as a standard 2.0TFSI but with taps full or torque on top and at the end of the day Torque talks in my book...

I was thinking of getting a 3.0TDi A5 something to beat the 2.0TFSI power and still come in better on the MPG, but £££'s came into it and the 2.0TDI Q was my choice.
If money was easier to come by then indeed I would choose the 3.0TDI as it is a delight.

Thanks

Martin

Hello, i'm trying to find an second hand A5 3.0 tdi S line after selling my sport, but am unsure as to when they came out. The eariest seems to be 2009 (09) is this correct or did they come out before that?

I ordered my S Line A5 in April 2009, to get a 2010MY car, however the S Line was originally available to order from October 2008 so the very first S Lines will be late 2008 early 2009 i.e. a "58" plate.
