Hello all,

I recently had the injection pump reconditioned on my a4 b6 2.5 tdi and ever since, the car has not driven as it used to. OK, its doesnt cut out anymore, but what I have noticed is sometimes, if i start off going uphill, there will be shaking and juddering, and the problem definitely seems to be fuel related.
Lately the car seems to judder as it decelerates through 1100RPM to 1000RMP. This is happening pretty much all the time now and is very disconcerting.

Any help or advice on what the possibilities of these symptoms could be will be very gratefully received.

Possibly the commencement of injection setting is not correct.

Possibly the injection pump needs timing, iknow this should be done if you change the pump or even the belt

Can you please elaborate on how I could check and if neccessary set the correct timing on the injector pump

To set the COI, you need to know the valve timing is perfect and if you are unsure, the engine needs to be peg and plated up first and the pump locked with a setting pin. Then the COI is set dynamically using a diagnostic computer system such as VAG-COM or similar, do you have a registered version of VAG-COM?

I don't have vagcom but the guy who did the injection pump work does have a basic VAG-COM cmputer.

I will be taking it to him so would appreciate knowing exactly what is required for him to check so that we can eliminate the potential timing problem.....

I would really like to get this issue sorted and I do believe the timing issue seems to be the most likely culprit. Is there anyone a reasonable distance from birmingham that can take a look at this for me..... i dont mind driving down to you, and of course pay you for your time......

I am in Nottingham but you are looking at about a two week wait at the moment.
