gttdi turbo loss

hi can anyone help ???????:1zhelp:
just bought a early 01 gttdi 115 bhp ,and having problems of loosing the turbo at all sorts of revs and speed,only in 5th&6th gear , had a diagnostics check nothing was picked up.Not happy with the cure ,all i do is turn off the engine and all is ok .Been to 2 garages ,they see nothing wrong. Please,please can anyone help ??

Sounds like the Vane actuator is sticking. There is plenty of info on this site if you do a search. It can be very simple to fix, and at worst should only cost a few hours labour at any garage that will clean the turbo internals.

Does it happen under acceleration, irrespective of gear, at the point when the turbo kicks in?
