2.0 tdi ?

hello all,
i'm running a 2001 bora 130 pd "sport".
i love it, it only has 83k on it, but it is now 9yrs old.
i have seen advertized, (haven't been near the car itself ),
a 2008 jetta,2.0 tdi "sport".
would this engine be a pd, or a common rail ?
would this 2.0 tdi likely to have the problems with engine oil pump/chain drive problems which seem to have been "quite numerous", from what i've read ?
as i say,haven't been near it,can't quote engine code,
but need some knowledge on board,just in case my numbers come out tonight.:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

If its 2008 then this would be the the PD 2.0 tdi. Was it the 140 or the 170? I believe the 140s had issues with injectors and turbos. The 170 used a different injector system(Piezo injector systems) , haven't heard many issues with the 170s yet but they are rarer and pricey.

2.0pd will never beat ASZ engine on reliability! ;)

the description didn't quote hp, so assuming 140.
surely a two year old car wouldn't give probs with those sort of things though?

No they're not. You can get them in both 140 and 170 flavours in the Sport model. The SE only comes with the 140.
