Adding voice tags on the mobile phone

Evening all,

Am I being daft or do you really have to have the engine started to add a voice tag???

I've just been adding a few of these in the new car and it seemed to only want to do it if you could get the contact name up on the DIS, not on the AMI screen. And for the DIS to have this info, the igintion had to be on and the car running. Seems a bit odd when Audi have proudly stuck an 'e' on to my cars title only to force me to start it if I wish to fiddle with the mobile phone!

Am I being the dipstick that the car has not got?

I'd have thought ignition on but not engine. Weird !!

On 3G I've not bother to record any as it doesn't need to .... although if you have a strong accent then I guess it's useful .... so can't help I'm afraid.

Dip stick - nope, you don't get one. All done thru the MMI.

I think you are correct, ignition must be on or you cannot add voice tags
