Hello All,

My car is the 2001 TDI 130bph. I heard a whistling sound coming from the right front of the car a couple of days ago. Today on my way to Leicester about 5 miles into my journey I lost power, no acceleration. Some advice please. What are the options? should I just take it into the VW dealer?

Any ideas welcomed !!

hi
is there any smoke from the exhaust if so what colour ?
you metion a loud whistling noise could be a boost leak on one of your turbo pipes

Thanks. I did not check the exhaust fumes if any. The whistling noise stopped as power was lost. Will check emissions tomorrow.

Sounds like you have blown one of the boost pipes off. Check the boost pipe (approx 3" rubber hose) behind the NSF headlight where it meets the intercooler. The quick release connection here is a prime suspect. Matty

i think its a pipe off as its been remapped and was ok for a bit then it started to loose a bit power and make the sucking/whinning noise.it doesent smoke any different.could it just be a pipe or clip is knackered around the intercooler /turbo area? any help pictures will be much needed.cheers.
