How much labour to fit Slave Cylinder

Hi guys,

My friends GT TDI's clutch pedal is sticking to the floor, then returning when it wants to. He called out breakdown and he reckons its the slave cylinder. Is he right?

How much labour is needed to change it. I understand the part is about £30, just how long to fit?

While i haven't fitted one to a golf

they're generally pretty easy to fit, just annoying to bloody bleed !

I'd say a couple of hours at most to fit

However it should be hard to fit yourself !

.. I've heard about a fault where the clutch pedal breaks? a mate of mine had to get his welded...may be worth researching and having a look at the pedal itself

there easy if its 5 speed but gt tdi's are mostly 6 speed so you will need to remove the gear box

ahhh i see... doing it on a 6 speed sounds a nightmere !
