Petrol engine re-map

Can anyone shed a light on whether a re-map of my 1.8t sport estate would make any significant improvement / or be cost effective to the appalling MPG im getting ( 21 - 23) urban. If so does anyone know anywhere near the Portsmouth area that does this, and rough cost

I was thinking of getting mine done as my mpg is about the same.
I think Regal in Southampton do it!
