Hi,

Got quoted £450 to get this done at an Audi specialist (goodness knows what Audi dealers would charge!)

Is this something a competent mechanic can do or do I need special tools etc. I have done these on older 7-series v8 BMW's and although one needs some strength as the bolts are tight, it can be done with standard tools and some common sense.

Also, does anyone know what brand Audi use for their OEM parts? There are so many to choose from: Mintex, EBC, ATE etc etc. Which are good?

Cheers
Paul

Answer: £800 for front and back discs, pads, and fitting. The parts prices weren't too bad, I looked on ebay after I'd paid Audi, and the prices on there were comparable with Audi's, so it might be worth checking with your dealer's parts department to see how much the genuine parts would cost, then just saving the £140 per hour fitting cost
