Where is engine number on MK4 Golf TDi ?

Can anyone tell me where the engine number will be on a V reg Mk4 Golf TDi as I need to buy a new cylinder head for one.

It will be stamped in the engine block on a machined flat, just below the cylinder head. OR, if it is still there, on a white sticker on the timing belt cover, just under the bar code.

if not look in the boot where the spare wheel is and a white sticker will give u every code needed. transmission, paint engine etc
