I'm just wondering if there is a rear 12v socket/cigarette socket for an a4 saloon, I don't have one, so I'm wondering if it was an optional extra or if it can be retrofitted :D
cheers

was optional, you can retro fit one if you like.
I have one in the boot...

I'm wondering where it would go if I was to retrofit one, does it sit near the rear ashtray or is it somewhere else. I don't have rear folding seats so I guess a boot install wouldn't be an option?

Ok, I'm thinking of retrofitting a 12v socket for the rear but can't find the parts on ETKA, I know this was an option with the luggage pack, but can someone provide me with a part number or a picture of where the rear 12v socket goes?
Thanks

Why not get any 12v socket/outlet from Halfords or similar and fit it anywhere you fancy

I'm just curious were the Audi fitted one went in the car since there is more chance of finding the wiring loom there if I was to retro fit a 12v socket.
Is the socket always in the boot even in saloons, or was it only the avant that has the socket in the boot?
I have a saloon with the socket in the boot, its on the offside....

Do you happen to have a picture of its location? ;)

Looks like we're out of luck, no wiring loom there, no hidden cable, nothing. I managed to check out the wiring diagram from Audi for the rear socket.
It takes its supply from a dedicated fuse in the fuse box and has a negative connected to a common ground at the rear back right next to the passenger seat, can't get to by removing the boot trim, looks like a rear seat out and removing the trim to get to it. But in all honesty its more work than I would like to do, since you have to run a new wire along the length of the car to get to the boot and I like to keep things factory fitted looking if you know what I mean.:(
