Heater plug light still flashing

I recently had a fault code scan and one of the codes indicated a faulty glow plug on no.2 cylinder of my 1.9 Tdi Caddy 2004. The glow plug warning light on the dash had been flashing for some time.

Today I tested the heater plugs and sure enough, plugs 1, 3 and 4 had a resistance of 0.6 ohms but plug 2 had a resistance of more than 50 ohms.

So I replaced the faulty plug with a new Bosch item, having first checked its resistance which was 0.5 ohms.

The only problems is that the orange light on the dash still flashes!

Should it turn off if the fault is cured, and if not is there an easy way to reset it besides another trip to VW?

try disconnecting the car battery for 10mins...

I've tried diconnecting the battery for 20 minutes but the light is still flashing.

Any more suggestions or do I have to spend another £60 at VW for them to turn it off?

Any garage should be able to do a read, print and clear for about £30.
