Radio Reception

I have an A3 TDI '04 and have had the Concert radio replaced with Alpine CD 9857R. Everything is fine but radio reception is terrible.

Any suggestions? I do not have a roof aerial, so assume it is fitted into the rear window perhaps?

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
