new member needs help

Hi all, ive just bought a 1999 t reg polo 1.4 and i want to change the timing belt,i went to halfords to get a haynes manual and they told me that they only do 1994 to 1999 s reg and the one for mine wont be out till september, i don`t understand the difference between the s reg and the t reg they are both 1999 and the same shape and they got the same engines havant they? any help would be great, thanks...

i cant think of any reason why it should be any different?

mine is a 1998 s reg polo 1.4 L

the only thing is, i would change mine but the bugger runs around the engine mouting, i have not worked on a wide range of cars but this is a first!

tell me how you get on, i might have a crack myself (costs £180 odd to get it done with VW!)
