Sharan keeps cutting out

My problem is as follows
I drive a VW Sharan 1.8turbo 20v Sport

I can start the car cold, drive for a few miles with absolutely no problems.
Either 2 things will then happen:

1. I can park the Sharan, turn the engine off try and try to start 5-10
minutes later and it just won't start. Turns over and fires and
occasionally chugs but just wont start.
or
2. Same symptoms as above but whilst driving. Total loss of power and
eventually dies.

If the car is left 30 mins upwards it will then start and drive normally
again for a period of time before it happens again.

I have taken to a garage who hook it up to a diagnostic machine, but it came back with no faults. I`v also had the AA out who picked up this -
NO INJECTOR SWITCHING, NO SPARK. FUEL PUMP WORKS.

hi i have the same kind of fault on my 2.0 sharan fine when warm, but when cold the revs drop when i put the clutch in then it cuts out. it will start first time straight after but with the cold weather we are having its a pain seems to take forever to warm up
