Drivers dash vent ilumination?

I have noticed the vent on the dash to right of driver does not come up with blue illumiation like all my other vents-can anyone confirm if this should be lit or whether I just have a bulb gone.
Also cannot see how to remove this vent to change a bulb-presumably clip somewhere-anybody done??

Yes, they should all be lit, but mine are red.

Had to replace the middle vent as the horizontal bars were snapped and one bulb didn't light up.

Pulling it forwards from the bottom worked best with no collateral to any other trim. Be careful though as the closing bits are very fragile.

The bulbs are in little white plastic housings that appeared completely sealed! there may have been a way in but I couldn't get them open or even seperated from the vent itself.

I have a 2003 Passat 130 TDI sport and never noticed the vents having lights. Should there be? My dash board has blue lights? Is mine broken?

My vent controls (around the thumbwheel) are all lit up in red.

Hello sorry to briing up a nice relic post, but my bulbs have blown, I just thought i'd go out and see how there in, but had no lighting and they've both blown now.
