Thanks for VCDS Help - Kent

I've just bought an A6 Avant reg 56 and so am new to Audi forums.

I'd like to say thank you to Stuart (the Administrator) and to Longman for their help.

So far I have :

1. Updated from 2xxx to 5570 the firmware. (Easy).

and with the help of Longman's VCDS :

2. Updated the Satnav to 2009

3. Activated the hidden menu.

4. Restored the battery meter reading.

5. Restored the on board computer (instrument cluster)

I can confirm that at least on my A6 it is not possible to activate the oil level meter. It remains greyed out.

So within 10 days I have learnt a lot thanks to forum(s). I now find that the negativity of some people (justly so I would like to add) is turning my attention to another forum area, the multitronic gearbox (7 plate). Now, is it as bad as some are saying?

4f does not support oil level hence the icon remains grey.Again always be carefull updating the bt as this can crash and also consider cp when updating
