any product for removing lacquer

hi

when i bought my polo last year in reflex silver i noticed the bonnet was slightly darker then the rest is had some lacquer peeling from the corner just noticed the paint under the lacquer is exactly same as the rest of the car so i took quite a bit of lacquer off on one side but its taking ages, removing with the handle of a SPOON

are the any products to soften the lacquer or remove it withought damaging the paint underneath?

if its peeling you can blow it with an airline and loads will come off, Failing that thinners might do the trick if used very carefully, but don't go mad or you will take the paint off underneath!
