make sure all the electrics are working properly as passat suffer from water getting in.check the front and rear footwells for damp or wet carpets.also check the boot as water can get in there aswell.

its not uncommon for footwells to have inches of water under that carpets.

do a search on here for water damage and ull see.

Th 1.8T suffers from sludge in the sump if its on a "long life" servicing.

Then remove the sump, clean it out and clean the oil pick up strainer

could just be faulty dorr locking mechs or could be water damaged electrics.

would bneed to get it hooked up to a VAG COM to get diagnostics

Just to hammer home what Kite has said, oil pressure-a major cause of problems on this engine.

just be carefull,i brought my passat 2 weeks ago and it drove fantastic and had full service history but 2 weeks later its leaking like a seiv and all sort of other problems.

if you can,get it checked out my a garage or a mate who knows a bit about cars because once you hand over the cash you aint got nothing to fall back on if it is a lemon.

goodluck mate;)
