Hi I am new to S3 ownership, my 2000 has covered 74k and nearly killed me twice in the last two weeks!

On Snake Pass the back end of the car suddenly spun (oversteered wildley) making the car fishtail for no reason, the result throwing me into a field at high speed and over £1300 damage!

The car has since been repaired, and the garage could not find anything wrong with the chassis that would have casued the skid, however driving it back from the garage (after repairs) the same thing happended on a large round about (back end slid round front end for no reason) PLEASE NOTE: this is not only happening becasue i was driving too fast!!! it is happening and 35-40 mph!!!

I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR AS IT IS! Before this problme started happening the car had excellent grip and powered through corners, this is what is worrying me, the handling has since become dangerous!

When the skid occured the traction control was on both times, however the light did not light up when skidding?

Any suggestions please? I need the car back on the road asap but do not feel safe driving it as it is.

PS all four tyres are brand new when i bought the car and have plenty of tread remaining

Thanks everyone, please help!

My advice would be get the traction control checked, everyting points to a malfunction in the system somewhare.

Yeah think i will, have lost all faith in it at mo, shame really, as i loved teh car before it almost killed me lol!

Anyway will i have to take it to Audi to get that checked or can any vw/audi specialist do it?

Could get the traction control checked out..

I heard a case some time ago where a Quattro was not evenly spreading the power causing it to dift and oversteer..

I will do some digging to see if i can find a link... (it was a few years back now!)
