Hi, Recently had my Golf go into a garage for some MOT work to be done. when got it back the car wouldnt start... ang the garage that did the repairs and they said they couldnt get it started since had it from MOT station....and had been starting it by bypasing the emmobilliser ( with a wire somewhere under the bonnet ).

When i turn on the ignition all the lights light up and get a " IN 02" message come up on dash display...Can anyone help plz, been without car for a couple of weeks now.

If you drove in there fine and it was all working then maybe the garage messed up something on the car....u could rip your immobiliser out but cudnt say what o2 sign means....could be the 02 sensor, (lambda)

Just done an electrical diagnostic test and found it to be the ignition switch that is faulty. car starts is i unplug the lead from back of ignition and put a probe in the plug with power running through it.

IN-02 is telling you that it's due a 20k service.

My Mk3 TDi has just started doing this exact same thing.... did you ever get to the bottom of what caused it?

Cheers,

Sounds like your battery voltage is dropping right down. Could be as simple as topping up your battery with de-ionised water.

Been there, done that!
