Vag-Com tell me if the ariel amplifier is working or not....After having poor reception from gamma radio i was wondering if there is anything else i can do before taking headlining out..:1zhelp:

I have the same problem Vag com states Aerial antenna open circiut. Anyone had this before? I presume the aerial amp is just the antenna base under the headcloth? Am I right? Cheers Matty

I just replaced mine. First I got a VW China one via ebay in china for £17, it was visually just like the original, but the radio recognised it as open circuit and the Ohms reading of it was higher than the one I had to buy next...

VAG COM said my old aerial was OK, but I suspected it wasn't.
Got a new one from the dealer 1jo035501c £44.17 inc.

This worked fine! So, get a proper one from dealer, and remember that the radio/vag-com may say a faulty one is OK.
I got a shorter mast for a few pounds from a motorist's shop.

Changing it was easy, but get 8 replacement plastic clips for the pillar trims, as they explode into tiny fragments when pulled out.
