hi all, didnt receive any replies to help in the other posts so am going to fit retor radio/cd player now, i see on e bay that you can get kits to retro fit other radios etc, one kit is a complete oblong facia while one is two piece that fits either end, my a4 is a 3/3/99 model and there is a choice so which one will it be, thanks in advance, jon:confused:

If your car is the facelift model with one piece headlights you will need the later type adaptor which I believe is 2 small pieces either side of the head unit.

thanks for the quick reply, mine has the main beam in the same unit so i guess that makes it facelift, also can you explain what din 1 etc means and will i be able to use cd stacker in boot with single cd head unit anstead of the original concert radio cassette? thanks

Din 1 I think is just the industry standard size for head units you can get single or double din, double din is twice the size of a normal head unit. The one piece headlights have the indicators and headlights all in one with the projector lenses.

Face lift adaptor..

and no, you most likely won't be able to use the CD stacker in the boot with any other make of head unit apart from an Audi one.

Try Halfords but dont speak to anyone of the jokers that works there instead ask to speak to one of their audio experts or fitters who should be able to tell you all you need to know. Hope that helps.

Not sure if this is any help to you, but both of the cars I mentioned in a thread I
started have the original concert sound systems along with the CD stacker units
in the boot.
