Come on this is the first forum i have been a member off that only moans and complains or asks how to solve problems.

Well I for 1 actually enjoy driving BOTH my 2.8's and think Audi is a phenominal car manufacturer.

{thats my tupence worth}

:D

I agree.

The majority of people only post when they have a problem. (I don't)

I've edited your thread title to something a little more catchy.

I must admit that I hadn't noticed too many people moaning, but the forum is about helping each other with problems.

As you say though I enjoy driving my Audis.

I started off with an A4 1.9TDi which I loved (still got it)

then an A4 2.8 quattro which was a little cramped, but wow did it move?

then an A6 2.4 which is a real classy cruiser but a little underpowered,

then an A6 2.7T which is by far the best car I have ever owned.

Leather interior, BOSE, quattro, 250bhp, two CD players (why?), two turbochargers, LPG, plenty of room, looks great (But not too flash - love it), takes off like a scalded cat and corners like a house fly.

Funnily enough, every one of them an avant and green!

I drive for a living and this car turns every trip from a chore to an event.

Nice Car Buster

Was it on gas when you bought the car?

I too love my car, its the best i've ever had. I joined this forum, not because i had a problem but becaus my dad joined a forum for his car i did the same for mine.

I am not a mechanic, i know next to nothig about VAGcom, never owned a vw before, not been on a forum before, I wouldn't be able to help many people on here so credit to those who do and can.

What i can bring to the forum is my experience as a whole, my dealer experience, any mishaps or question about my car. if people ask a question i may be able to find the answer or point them in tha direction of a helpful website. i can find out various different bits of info about oil due to connections through work.

when it comes to lumpy engines - not a clue where to begin.

Plus there is the community spirit, taking part in silly threads, having a laugh. i'll help where possible.

i treated my car to some alloy wheel cleaner and a bespoke brush.

wow. what a result.

Your right.. a lot of people only join a forum to resolve an issue which is no problem, but what seems to happen is we all are on the same wave length with the intrest in cars.. VAG or what ever.

Over the past few years when i have been involved with Audi forums i have noticed that if a member gets there problem solved quick they tend to stay a member and actively get involved, a while ago on another forum we had a converstion simlair to this and a few members said they felt (without no pressure) that once there issue was resolved they enjoyed learning other things about there cars which kept them an active member.

The great thing about forums like this is you dont have to know anything about cars or you may think you know everything and we all get along.

at the end of thre day we all want 3 things.. get a problem fixed, help anyone whos got a problem and have a bit of banter!

I have one or two gripes but lets face it perfection is hard to achieve. I like the general chat on forums, especially those chats around the cars. I love to see what people think of the car (excellent thread BTW ;)). Like most of you I have owned other marques (in fact this is my first VW) and think that you can get a good idea about the marque in general. First hand experience is what counts but sometimes you can just be unlucky and maybe blame the marque. This way you get to see how other people manage day to day with it.

It seems though the majority of people post when they have an issue. I have said this before but it is probably because as well as producing some real drivers cars VAG also make cars for "people". These cars are bought for their pure A to B ability, not because the owner is a car nut :p

Some people like to moan - troo. ;) I love my car, I really do. I came here cos I'd a problem with the car, like just about everyone else. BUT I do love my car and the only reason I hadn't looked for a place like this before the problem is cos I thought everyone would be all techie head, patronising and having a go at people cos they don't know the fault codes off by heart. Or something like that. Some car places get a bit techy and this one strikes me as being more friendly.

I'm just here for the banter.

I can't help anyone. If a light comes on I don't know what it means without looking up the book. I turn the key and it goes. If it doesn't, I need help.

But did I say, I love my car.

Dont resist the urge...keep looking!!:biglaugh:

I appreciate the moans and the banter, as it all adds to the mix. it takes all sorts as they say... and the moans help us a learn

I know i dont post a shed loads, but i love absorbing the info on this forum like a sponge, so i find the moans as interesting as the banter.

Its just human nature to moan I suppose, very few people feel the need to shout from the rooftops how good something is, but most people will share a bad luck story. I used to frequent a very popular forum for the last car (still do in fact) which was very much like this, techie if needed but still human with the fun stuff if you just need to take a break.

I like reading the moans though. My car skills stop just after the fuel and water have been added, so most of the time i've no idea if what the car is doing is correct :Blush2: , so its good to read that others may (or may not), be having the same thoughts. I used to drive my indie specialist crazy with the last car, saying that I had read this or that on the internet and was my car suffering from the same thing?? Luckily he was a very honest chap, otherwise he could have fleeced my blind!!!

As long as the moaning doesnt become the only thing on here (or worse, sniping and back biting take over and I have seen some very nasty threads on one or two forums that make you wonder for the future of the human race), its a good thing.:biglaugh:

Well I think the forum's great and people seem friendly and willing to help, as well as have a laugh, but that's what it's all about.

As for my cars, I've previously owned a 2.0 16v Corrado, absolutely brilliant car, but now I have my Coupe and I love it to bits :-) and so far, this forum has been invaluable. Much better than the forum I used when I had my Corrado!

I have only posted because of a problem with my passat, I still love her though and I appreciate the help I have received off other members, so yes I may be one of the people who only have problems, but I will be posting all of the good things I experience too!!!!:o :o :o :o

I can't remember what my first post was about, although I know I've not posted as much as I'd want to. My car is the first VW I've owned and I must say I'm very impressed! I have had nicer drives but this car jas been good to me, which is why i love it to bits. Too much sometimes though as I usually get earache off the missus, "not that bloody car again!"

I've found this forum to be really helpful over the time I've been here and I try to help others or at least point them in the right direction. I'll usually give a bit of advice if I can too, although I'm no mechanic I am pretty handy with a car (these new ones though are a right pain with all the computers).

It would be nice if the site was to grow and get bigger and more reccognised, maybe in time there might be a meets section split up into North, North West etc etc with our very own area reps, but only time will tell ;)

Overall this forum is spot on, good work Mods, keep it up! :beerchug:
