I have just purchased a A6 2.8 V6 Saloon with full service history, question is how do i know if timming belt has been done? With my other Audi 2.8 V6 It states in service book the times when the belts where done bit this one does'nt????

hmmm it should indeed be in the book.

Here's a thing though, in my book it says the timing best is to be done every 80k if I remember correctly. One day though when I was checking things over under the bonnet I noticed a small sticker stuck to the underside of the bonnet. Sticker states 'change timing belt 75k'

Cheeky eh?

If you are unsure if it has been done, I would suggest getting it changed for "piece of mind" that way, even if the last owner had it done a few thousand miles ago, at least you will be 100% sure.

Look in your service book, and find out which garage did the 70,000 and 80,000 mile services.

Then, armed with the date, reg number and mileage, phone the garage concerned and ask them.

Worth a try
