help glow plug light does not come on

This info may not apply to yours but if it is any help the audi 80 tdi has a temp sensor in the water hose connector at side of cylinderhead ,try disconnecting this blue sensor and see if light comes on.
There is also a 60 or 80 amp metal fuse strip in the audi 80 fuse box
