knocking from steering wheel

Hi

i have a audi a4 tdi, when i turn the steering left and right quickly on a standstill i can hear knocking noises, occasionally in the morning when moving off slowly and turning the steering i get grinding noise with viabration from the steering wheel, any ideas on the problem?

hi mate you need to check all your suspension arm ball joints also your track rod ends any knocking in the steering when stood still usualy means play in the ball joints the grinding noise when you are on the move sounds like your cv joints are worn

Check the oil level in reservoir also,and for air bubbles coming back thru return line.Check security of hoses etc.
