Hi . Can anybody tell me if its possible to fit a second hand cluster and 'recode' the ecu to accept it ?

Yes if you have the correct equipment.

Yes, I fit a lot of second hand clusters for people. You need both SKCs and a good diagnostic tool, and a way to correct the mileage on the second hand cluster.

Thanks for the info . I'm going down the route of changing the Cluster , rfid tag in the key and the ecu form a donor car 1.9tdi 2002 , into my 1.9tdi 1999. Hopefully that will get me running . Has anybody done this ? know the millage will be out but I think its only by a few thousand. Grateful for any advice. I assume the ECU is under the plastic trim over the wiper blades , so i've been told.
