At my last service in June this year (120K miles), I had my 2002 Passat TDI reset to long life service by the main dealer.

However, Its now 12,200K miles since my last service and I'm still not getting any kind of warning that a service is due.

Its been some time since I ran the car on long life service, but I don't remember service intervals going much beyond 10K miles before.
Is this interval normal or should I suspect something is amiss?

Most of my journey's are via motorway (my work commute is 120 miles a day 3 or 4 times a week).

Longlife on mine was about 21,000miles looking at the service history.

Thanks Snapdragon.
That explains it then. I suspect it wasn't properly set to long life previously.

Longlife is insane, it ruins cars. I have got to the point that I refuse to set my customers cars for LL. I will use the oil as it is good but I only set them for fixed interval now. Some customers even let me set them for half way oil change intervals, especially those with ARL 150PD’s.

i change mine at 6k intervals . 21k on the same oil is madness.Purely a fleet car option for cars never off the roads. to save money .

I must say my passat was set to 20000 or 2 years but is a bit stupid to do that if you not doing long miles, I think best option is use the best oil you can get and replace at least every 10000 you can't harm the car that way, even if you want the book stamp is worth paying extra money, but if you keep the car for long it won't make much different when you sell it that's my opinion, those days you can go to anyone and get book stamp, I just don't give my car to garage for servicing because just don't know if they will change things , you can see if the filter has been change but you can't tell diffrence on oil???so I just do it my self at least I know that the car has oil change;)

I use long life oil and change it every 10k miles for peace of mind.
