Drivers door lock

The drivers dooor on my 2003 passat has decided it will not unlock!

The electrics work on all the other doors no probelms, if I try to turn the key it just goes around and around, and if I try to open the door from the inside handel, it will not.

Any ideas?

I have had the plenum chamber mod/recall done, and the car is inside all day and night so the CCU can not be wet (But I have not checked)

I am going to take the door to bits and have a look, whats the best way of doing this??

Sounds like the control cables have a broken connection with the lock. Probably the lock has broken or maybe just the connections. Lot's of info on here about how to remove trim and metal plate behind, just search.
